Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how IPOPBOOKS collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and bookkeeping services. We collect only what we need to provide the Services.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — name, email, business details, and credentials you provide when you sign up.
- Financial & transaction data — bank and transaction information obtained, with your authorization, through our bank-data providers — Quiltt and Stripe Financial Connections — and their underlying providers, so we can keep your books.
- Billing information — handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage & device data — pages visited, actions taken, IP address, and similar analytics collected via cookies and tools such as Google Analytics / Google Ads.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the bookkeeping Services.
- To categorize transactions and prepare your reports.
- To communicate with you about your account, support, and updates.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Services, under contracts that require them to protect it — for example:
- Bank aggregation (Quiltt and Stripe Financial Connections, and their providers)
- Cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services)
- Payment processing
- Email delivery
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of IPOPBOOKS, our users, or the public.
4. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion as described below.
5. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest and least- privilege access controls. See our Security page for more detail. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Where we store your data & international transfers
We host the Services on Amazon Web Services. For customers in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we store your account and bookkeeping data on servers located in the EU (AWS Europe, Frankfurt region).
Financial account data that you connect through Stripe Financial Connections is processed and stored in the United States, in line with Stripe's operating requirements. Where this involves transferring personal data of EEA or UK individuals to the United States, the transfer is made under appropriate safeguards — Stripe's Standard Contractual Clauses and its certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and the UK Extension) — and is limited to what is needed to import and categorize your transactions.
If you prefer to avoid this transfer, you can use our manual statement-upload option instead of connecting a bank through Stripe.
7. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@ipopbooks.com. You can also disconnect your bank connection at any time from your account settings.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may in addition object to or restrict our processing of your personal data, withdraw your consent at any time (for example, by disconnecting a bank connection), and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example, your national supervisory authority). Our legal bases for processing are the performance of our contract with you, your consent (for bank connections), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services.
8. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure marketing performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.
9. Children
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above.
